Renaldo "Skeets" Nehemiah (world record holder and the first man to run the high hurdles in under 13 seconds). Live about 1/2 mile from me when I grew up in the late 70's - early 80's.

Had a vanity plate that read "PUMA." Probably paid for the car and then some.

Sorry to drag up an old thread but not being able to sleep sometimes leads to finding crap on the Internet that may be of interest to others. I remember a GTS for sale a few years back that belonged in Lars Ulrich. I also remember seeing a scene from the "Year and a half in the life..." rockumentry thing back in the day where he was speeding through Hollywood but I didn't remember being able to identify what kind of car he was driving. I don't like Metallica well enough to try and find the DVD but youtube is free so I found the scene.

The car is only in the "movie" for a few quick shots and luckily you don't have to watch much of the video to see them. From 14 seconds in until 121 seconds into this video you can see the car. It looks like an S4 (looks like non-airbag wheel -can't tell, auto, w/ flag mirrors) so the GTS must have been another car from his collection as stated earlier in this thread. The guitarist George Benson owned a convertible 928 back in the 80's. His oldest son and wife could be seen driving it around Tenafly and Englewood Cliffs NJ. Eddie Murphy also had an 928 S4 at one point. I don't know what happened to either car.

Back in my Mustang GT days while living in Bethesda Maryland, a black 928 S4 started racing me. I put down the Armands Chicago style pepperoni pizza I was eating and tangled with this car for a good 20 minutes. Window tint was so dark I couldn't see who was driving but then the window came down, it was a woman who I'd later find out was Patrick Ewings wife (now ex wife), Rita. I ended up dating her younger sister for a hot minute.

Well, you just moved up a notch on some scale. I'm sure sordid details are out of the question.

The convertible used to belong to Kevin Duckworth.

Now if we could find the Red 83 that Marianne Gravette got for being Playmate of the year in 1982 - that might be interesting.

Yes, I bought that '88 S4 auto with ~81K on the odo (and with what seemed to be an '89 differential!!) about 2 years ago. Received the accompanying copy of the original CA title, and bill of sale from Beverly Hills Porsche with the sale. Planned to drive it a long time, but 4 months after buying it, found & bought the '94 GTS that I know drive. Sold the "pretty woman" car (which my wife named Vivian) about 12 months after buying it to a fellow in NJ. He was going to use it as a daily driver, and was delighted with the appearance and condition. Previous ownership was not important to either of us!!!
Cheers,

PS: The previous owner of the '94 GTS is a very well known Houston businessman and philanthropist. As president of his family's philanthropy, he gave $10MM to one of the Houston hospitals about 6 months before I bought the car. He was the original owner, maintained it meticulously mechanically, drove it for 12 years and 60K miles. Must have liked it!!!! Traded for a Maserati GT

I was watching Letterman many years ago, perhaps back in his NBC days, when a young male guest, forget who it was, who was into cars, asked Letterman "You have a Porsche 928 don't you, a white one?". Of course Letterman didn't really want to talk about it.
