155k miles later and the paint still shines. Porsche didn't cut any corners on these cars.

Zandramus, is that your car? It looks nice

I didn't even know they had a "Speed Yellow" before the 90's.... the only yellow I knew of on the older cars was a "Talbot Yellow", which I'm fairly certain my car was originally.

Can anyone clarify this with the OB's?
Chris
Yes this is mine, actually it was resprayed just before I bought it. out of Houston, I drove it from Houston to your neck of teh woods at my brothers house when he was in Austin then drove it from there to Columbus.

They did a poor job on the front and rear plastic parts but the rest of the paint is very nice , the interior is shot and it is currently down pending a transmission swap. I have some new interior parts I am doing up and the interior is going to be Black and Yellow. Yellow headliner and pillar posts, black dash and center console. doors will be yellow with the centers black seats will be black with the centers yellow. Still have a whole lot of work to do. Basically I am taking the 2 tone interior and making the darker color there now black and the lighter color yellow. except for the seats as that is too much yellow in the interior.

I also have to get the front bumper and rear bumper touched up as they didnt prep the plastic correctly when the y sprayed it.

My favorite stock color is diamond blue metallic (looks like silver with a blue or magenta aura). Fantasy color would be a tobacco sunburst like an old stratocaster guitar.

if you had the choice of any colour to coat your 928 in, what would it be?
I did have a choice. I chose Porsche facory color 84R Arena Red Matallic. My interior is light tan, greay-beige and dark brown.

Include a sample colour picture.
OK

I'll be repainting my '79 in the not to distant future, and was going to replace it's plain black repaint with the factory delivered metallic black.

This however is really interesting me alot:

Hmmm, got some deciding to do.

Zandramus- you've got a totally gorgeous car! That thing is too hot, close behind a silver car in my opinion. But what you've described interior-wise I cannot agree with. I don't think the two-tone idea will work at all- it is too "ricer" in my opinion.

MY version of this car would have everything done in black on the inside...with the exception of the piping on the seats and the guages in yellow to match the exterior. This all would lend a certain tension to the whole experience that would be irresistable!

Anyway, hope you work out your tranny problems. Post the pix when you get done!

Normy,
if the current interior wasnt toast right now I would agree. but with the car color I think it will look really superior.
