Default Reverse light trigger from the CE

I was feeling a bit DIY and am replacing my CE board in my 79 5 sp. I thought I'd go ahead and wire in a trigger for the backup camera. According to my limited understanding of the WSM, it looks like I can just pull the power signal directly from connection S-7 on the CE board. Can someone give me a sanity check on that?

Nothing is ever that easy... S7 provides primary power to the reverse light switch on the gearbox, which then feeds the backup lights. Look for the harness connectors in the rear of the car, and specifically black-with-blue-stripe to make your camera connection. For your 1979 US car, the circuit is on wiring diagram Sheet IV, at rung 15 straight down from the S7 point you reference. Connect anywhere below the switch but above the light bulbs.

For automatic, 1990, could I tap at CE on the U12 wire?
