Unveiling 1955 racer barn find
So here's the story. A guy in Los Angeles area buys a 1955 Porsche racer in 1963. Puts it in a barn. He passed away in 2021 and 4 weeks ago (so must have been january - february of 2021) the barndoor opens and there is the 1955 racer. So that is what I have heard. The car is bought by a Porsche dealer in the Netherlands and he will unveil it next Friday 26th March time 09:11H pm ( CET so this is 01:11h Pacific time) on a livestream show celebrating 15th anniversary of "Porsche dealer Gelderland". if you want to watch it, see:

Race Car
I need to see this one in person !
Once we can travel, i will plan a tour, from France, then Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Germany and back to France. This could allow me to see 12 Clubsport's in a few days

Oh crap... You got me on that one...
Some have actually taken five years to convince the former owners to sell. But I am a persistent man when I find what I want.
I don't think it would be a good idea to steal a 928, the posse would be on you in a heartbeat!

The short version of the loooooong story is that a buddy of mine told me about a guy that was sick that wanted to sell an "old Porsche" on his property. Through a rather convoluted series of events in 1994 I ended up with a 1952 356 1500S which was purchased in California in 52 - likely one of the first Porsches in California. At the time my daily driver was a 54 Coupe and I'd previously also restored a 54 Speedster. I spent months restoring the car and after I sold it I probably cleared about 50 cents an hour for all the time I spent on it, but I loved every minute of working on it.

The car unveiled is a special edition 911 and the barn find was a red 550 Spyder that raced in California bearing the number 118K. Perhaps some of you know this car and the story. Here are some screenshots I took.
