Default Instrument cluster resistor

Hi all,could somebody tell me where the instrument cluster resistor is located on my '89 model ( digital dash) S4 please? I have the cluster out but don't see it anywhere?

Not on the cluster - it's on the firewall.

Thanks Kevin, I eventually found it! Unfortunately it still didn't solve my problem. I cleaned the resistor contacts up and still can't get the dimmer to dim my pod illumination 😔

yep! I have a good new rheostat and this resistor also checks out fine. I get 9v plus going into the pod on connector 4 terminal 58. I read an old thread where Theo Jenniskens says it should be something like 5v plus at that point. Even going down to the lowest voltage at 9v doesn't seem to dim it one little bit though which I thought it might have a small effect.

yes, all the centre console works and dims using the rheostat, just the instrument cluster doesnt dim.
