Default Engine Came Out -- So Far So Good

Well -- after about 12 hrs, 24 budweisers and with the help of a good friend, the engine is out of the 928. I'm already fretting about putting it back in.

After all the warnings I read about the "hidden" starter wire bracket, it still bit me. It's really hidden -- I thought I had removed all of them, but that's what I get for thinking. We had the engine lifted about 1 1/2 feet off of the mounts when we discovered that it was tethered to the cross member by the wire bundle -- this could have been bad.

I am completely and totally ashamed of you.
24 Budweiser’s while working on a Porsche? How totally irresponsible! I am lost for words. What kind of an example are you setting for people on this list? A lot of younger and very impressionable people read these posts.

Next time buy a case of Hacker-Pschorr, Spaten, or at least Lowenbrau now that the original recipe is being used, and Miller sold the rights back to Germany.

A few site’s you need to visit before you work on your car again:

http://www.lowenbrau.com.au/

http://www.spatenusa.com

And the mother of all Beers:

.....well, maybe Hupp used the Bud to degrease the engine - and saved the Hacker - Pschorr for consumption!!

hupp,

Don't listen to Hacker 24 budweiser is the min amount required for the job. Infact for 2 people I can say it probably wouldn't be enuff for my house. About a case of beer per person per 24 hours is what the doctor orders.

Now that the engine is out and I don't have to worry about dropping any heavy things on my fingers, the beer consumption will definately increase.

....and I'm all about good ole' American beer. Not that fancy import stuff....

There's only one solution to this particular technical problem. Shiner Bock.

MBMB,

Spoken like a true Texan - if the Dr. Pepper won't cure it, the Shiner Bock will...

Hupp,

Good luck, and remember, it's not just a job, it's an adventure.

If that's the case, you need some good old, Kingsbury, Old Style and Blatz. If your the fancy beer drinker, grab some Old Milwaukee, PBR, and Slitz!

I'll be pulling my engine this fall, let me know anything strange you run into.

Mmmmmmm.....Shiner bock. Now that's some tasty stuff, but don't forget about some cold Abita Turbodog.

Hacker,

I'll keep you posted on all the unexpected or "developmental" work.
