And maybe spring for the de-icer kit? Tbh, I wouldn't have predicted temps like this in Texas either....

Roger,

Been thinking of you and your family, as well as other friends in TX as we have been hearing about all the loss of electrons and cuts in natural gas delivery throughout TX. Very serious situation (having lived through a score of winters in NE when there was nothing but wood for heating and temps were -20 F). So glad to hear your power has returned, and hope electron delivery continues unabated. It sounds like the Austin area may be even worse than the Dallas/FW area.

Keep up the good work as 928sRus owner, and keep the family safe.

Cheers mate,

Gary

Roger: Glad you are relatively unscathed(?) so far. Maybe ERCOT will send you all to Cancun like your senator? Hotter there than he actually wanted I hear.

Stay safe out there. Hopefully the infrastructure out here gets an update and winterization it needs (being built to federal standards )

Anyways, best of luck catching up on the orders, I'm sure you and everyone else working with you is going nuts trying to get emails through!

Winter outages are miserable experiences, in so many ways. Glad it's over for you, Roger.

Those outside the 928 community don't know how to make good decisions, so we must suffer!

During a long outage here last winter, while refueling a small portable generator, outside, -10° F, at 2:00 AM, in my slippers and bathrobe, I decided 'never again'. I now have a 22 kW unit that can power the whole compound. But nearly everyone with the same Generac equipment suffered failures during that outage - they're not usually provided with a heater on the engine breather tube, which would freeze up and cause oil to geyser up out the dipstick tube. Like any proper 928 owner would, I installed the missing heater, which in German fashion is buried under the intake. It's all worked as I expected, like carrying a $7000 umbrella - no outages since.
