Default AERO MIRRORS ON FLAG MIRROR BASE

I came across an inexpensive pair of aero mirrors on eBay, (inexpensive-shocking)
The seller listed them as “strange” and removed from a Porsche 964.
As I was trying to remove the bases and getting ready to order GTS bases from my favorite 928 parts distributor, I realized these were aftermarket mirrors mounted on stock factory flag mirror bases.
Researching Rennslist and the web it seems Gemballa made an aero mirror that used a flag mirror base.
The mirrors have no part number or name on them.
The best part is they will work with a 928 flag mirror base.
If these were still in production you could upgrade your mirrors, keeping the flag mirror base on the car.
Only having to buy the new mirror glass.
Can they be scanned?
3D printed?
Duplicated without legal issues?
I did email Gemballa to ask if they produced these, did not hear back.

if you look closely at some Gemballa 964’s you can see the square flag mirror base.
Even Vanilla Ice had a set!

Pretty easy install-
928 bases did not have to be removed-
the original 89 motor with plugs and temp sensor fit inside aero mirror-
Definitely not as neat as factory set up but no splicing so everything can be reversed to stock if desired-

Looks nice! But I have to admit I also like the 'flag' mirrors. Took a while to kind of grow on me, but don't know if I prefer aero to flag right now.

I would never change the flags on my S3-
but on the S4, I like the Aeros-
something different, with a bit more modern look-

We need to find the molds, so we can have "cheap" aeros for all the people in the 928 world!

That would be great. The rest of the parts seem to be available at reasonable price (motors are used in many other cars and cheap) so we just need the outer shells.

What about 3D printing them?

If only we knew somebody with the aeros we could pull a mold from.
