Maybe I am missing something but I can't decipher the wiring diagram for 1985 928S.
I am trying to ID wires that go to connector "T" under the fuse panel (as I have a red wire fried and trying to ID it). I can't see the connector block "T" (or any other letter) anywhere in the wiring diagram pages, and the last page for the connector does not seam to help find where the wires connect to on the other pages?
Is there some tutorial or hints ? thanks
85 is when Porsche started changing the format of the diagrams. Check out my tutorial on the earlier diagrams and if that doesn’t help, see Alan’s tutorial for the later diagrams (linked from my thread below).
T disribution plug serves back lighting on car primarily. Where is the melted red wire exactly?
position T11 on the distribution plug? That's going to drive hatch interior lights.
So looking at T plug, with it seated in the CE panel, so that you are facing the wires coming out of plug...
T15 T25
T14 T24
T13 T23
T12. T22
T11 T21
For reference, T11 has a small diameter red wire.
Top left, T15 has a black and white striped wire.
The reference to H8 on your inset is actually a kind of physical longitude lattitude.
Find the diagram that has an H labeled somewher on the horizontal axis of the dwg, and also has 8 labeled along vertical margin. Follow with your finger where they intersect. That should show the wire terminal or component being fed from that terminal on the plug. LOL what a system.
In this example, the dwg sheet you seek is Lamps.
Find H 8, lower right of dwg. Look for a wire T11....and follow it...if thats the melted one. H longitude 8 latitude Voila, T11 representing where the lower left wire of plug T, a thin red one, ends up on the other end of the harness.
Thanks Fred, yes following rjtw's "tutorial" I have studied the wiring diagram. I hadn't determined which terminal it was (but will do that tomorrow - thanks for the easy position ref), but I expect it is T11(interior lamps) or possibly T12 or T13 (red white wire - hard to notice the white when melted) these are rear window heaters. The only other Red is (T25) rear wiper motor and that works.
