Resistor wires will not measure continuity... if you set your meter to a the ohms scale, you should get a reading that varies with length. The end connectors also have a resistance.

So true! Resistance values of 3K - 15K ohms are more typical - for all eight . If, by continuity on one of the eight, you mean 'straight wire' of <10 ohms, that needs to be checked again.

Mark R ........ I just wish I had recalled that issue of the reversed green / white wires much sooner . The business with the timing ring moving misdirected everyones attention ......much like magic tricks . The question was not how did he make the elephant disappear ? BUT how did he make it appear in the first place ? I assume the check is in the mail ..........

I'm guessing no update since the last discussion was in 2004!

BRB may be having issues with the timing ring on his flywheel, so thats why I linked this thread ,
I know its old but still has useful info...
a followup on what the result was would also be helpful

I had stumbled upon this thread also doing a search. It's moot at this point, as a quick timing check shows my car in spec at idle, off idle, and at 4k RPM.

Stan, as always, thanks for investing your time to help.
