Default GT3 Stolen!!

On Tuesday, a 2004 GT3 was stolen from Ira Porsche. The car is yellow with PCCB and lots of yellow trim inside. the VIN is WP0AC29934S692192. The car had about 350 miles on it when it left here. If anyone comes across this car, or any info regarding it, please contact me immediately. I can be reached at:

or, you can email John D. at admin@rennlist.com.

All of your assistance is tremendously appreciated.

Thanks

Wow must be a really good thief or a really stupid one to steal a car that recognizable.

Either REALLY stupid, or more likely, stolen to order.

If stolen to order, it's already in a container and headed to South or Central America (or some former Sov-Bloc entity).

Could also be used for parts for a crooked US shop, but as low-volume as GT3s are, that seems unlikely - too easy to track and get caught.

Hope it's recovered, but most joyriders would be busted by this point, so I wouldn't be too optimistic. Stranger things have happened though.

How was it stolen, do you leave them out in the yard at night.
Did your sales guy turn over the keys for a unescorted test drive.
Details please.

I do not have enough details to pass them along acurately. Sorry. The car was not readily acceissible, and the exit of the car was not as clean as we would expect from a pro, at this point, its all speculation.

This may be a dumb question, but why don't they put GPS tracking devices in these new cars? Are they simply too easy for the theives to rip out?

They do - it's called the Lo-Jack system.

Costs a few hundred bucks and can be installed by the dealer.

Definitely a good investment for high-profile, high-dollar cars.

I understand that when they install things like LoJack, the installer doesn't even tell the owner where they put it in the car (though I imagine a conscientious DIY owner would probably figure it out).
