Default Another German Head Unit Option: Kienzle CR1225DAB+ CD/Bluetooth/2xUSB Radio

I finally completed the install tonight of a new single DIN head unit to replace the factory CD-2 head unit in my 88 S4. I also used the factory amp bypass wiring from Creative Car Audio to use the head unit internal amp to power the speakers directly. I haven't seen any talk of this unit on the forum so I thought I'd share.

This is a German brand head unit by Kienzle, model CR1225DAB+ that I was eager to try because it had the following features:
-Front & Rear USB ports
-CD Player (Yes, I still will use this frequently. I have a huge collection of CDs. Laugh if you want.)
-Bluetooth
-Aux In
-Reasonably plain appearance

I know many use the Continental/VDO head units and I have one in my 1984 BMW 635CSi that's served me pretty well. But the one feature of those that's always bugged me on the Conti is the way they read music files off USB storage (cannot select by artist/folder name). This seems to solve that issue and overall feels like a small upgrade.

I bought this unit new from eBay from a German seller and it arrived in about 2 weeks. This also has the DAB radio frequency for European buyers, but it does not work in the U.S. currently.

Initial thoughts: So far I'm really pleased with the look - the lighting is white which isn't a perfect blend for the dash but not too distracting either. The chrome strips are not really my preference but otherwise the unit looks pretty stock. The large volume **** is nice and bigger than the one on the Continental units. The buttons have a nice feel to them too. The internal amp packs more power than the factory Blaupunkt amp the car was originally running. I'm sure I'll end up changing out the factory speakers too down the line but for now it's functional.

Below are a few pics and a link to the info sheet on the unit if you'd like to read more.

Curious if anyone else has tried this unit and to hear what you think if so!
