yes for the rear you should also consider adding a rear bolt on spacer,
this will kick the rear wheels out to fill the fender wells.

You are also gonna need to pull the rear fenders out with two leather gloved hands,
gently pull on the edge of the rear fenders with your hands together,
the fender edge will come out a few MM.

NOTE I am gonna guess that you will need either a 17 MM or 21 MM spacer,
look for HnR bolt on spacers.

NOTE measure first the sidewall of the tire to the fender lip,
use the side thats lower,
then subtract 5 MM from this number thats your spacer size.

NOTE pull the fenders out first with gloved hands

Thank Stan. Assume that without spacer I should just be able to put them on and drive. There are some local 928 owners who seem to know the drill with spacers so will check with them once wheels are landed and have rubber on them.

NOTE this advice from post 16 is for the 10 inch rear rims with no spacers,
NOTE the inner tire edge might hit going over bumps.with a 265-30 18 tire
fitting spacers will prevent that.

NOTE using 11 inch rims will definitely hit the inner wheel well unless spacers are used.
and the outer edge might have to have the edge rolled flat to clear a 295 tire

I'm a proponent of 17" wheels. Also I don't believe that you need gonzo wide wheels and tires. The rear axle does an amazing job of keeping you pointed in the right direction. I really don't know of many that can drive the car beyond it's limits....so it becomes a fashion statement.
I use 17" Cayman wheels for a number of reasons. 1) They fit the wheel arches well, 2) I don't have to pull out the fenders. 3) I don't have to buy huge tires ( 225 x 50 front and 245 x 45 rear). I only have about 440# of torque so yes I can get sideways without too much effort, but I can have more fun without drama. 4) They are cheap and they are OEM. If you break one, it's not the end of the world. As I said...wheels are a fashion statement.

Not going for the gonzo look, but set on the carrera 3, I think they look perfect on the 928, as you say, its a fashion statement. These are the ones I'm getting, will be fully refurbished: https://teile.com/en/porsche-parts-s...8-C2-C2S/18824

I run Carrera III wheels on my 90 928 S4, and have been since 2008 (thanks Stan). They look good and handle well.

After the 2019 Silver State Classic, 179.8144 mph average for 90 miles and top speed of 219.0 mph. Fastest 928 at the time, and still the fastest on the street.
