Users and Members are reminded that there are some rules and such around marketing your items on Rennlist. For a while we've been stepping around some of the rules here, mostly by allowing 928-centric for-sale posts to live here in the tech forum. Justification was (and is) that there's a limited number of cars compared to many others, such that forcing Members to use the Marketplace was not a benefit. This problem exists to greater and lesser extents in several other forums, even though we think we are "special". And we all are, each in our own unique and "special" way. The middle ground on this will initially have us post to the Marketplace, and then have the option of adding a notification post here in the tech forum, with a link to the Marketplace post. We are each responsible for maintaining both if we post in both places. You'll get to answer questions in both places, but of course have the option of adding a post to that Marketplace posting with a link to the tech forum discussion. Everybody got that straight? I think I confused myself with that.

I'll edit this post down as we all get used to using the Marketplace. We'll use a gentle hand at first, so folks can adjust. Within a few weeks though, the only threads for items for sale here must include the link to the Marketplace ad, where you are actually offering your things for sale.

Questions and comments about the policy should be shared right here in this thread please. I haven't a clue how much flexibility there will be for major changes, but our constructive comments will all be considered going forward.

The rules are that you have to be a paid rennlist member to sell stuff here. Keeps out the spam. Membership is cheap, and the benefits are good. Pay up and you'll have access to the marketplace where you may post cars and parts for sale. You also have to post an asking price too, to keep ads from becomming auctions.
