rdourro, no laps on a track, just a chassis dynamometer to measure horse power and torque. Lets you truly know what your engine is producing. Some folks are pleasantly suprised, other folk have actually found out that there was a problem, and their car did not put out the numbers that it "should" have. Fun for bragging rights too. Come on up and join the fun. It should be a great 928 day. There are a few others from the ATL area coming up also.

Dyno day update: I have now fully reserved the dyno for the morning of May 8th, now that several folks have gotten back in touch to let me know that date works with their schedules.

Ian,(944 turbo) are you still interested?? Any of your buddies want to come down too??? (944's)

I'll post a link to this on the '44 board and see what I can come up with. I'm still very interested, I found out today that I'm moving to Raleigh in two weeks so it will be a longer drive, but if the 951 is up and running i'll be there....

Looks like 7 cars so far. Come on folks, we can do better than that can't we????? Just mark your calendar for May 8th, and come on!!!!!!!!!!!!
Price doesn't get any better than that for dyno time, and the fellowship is priceless.

I just wanted to put this back to the top to keep it visible. Still plenty of spots open.

Come on folks, you can't have a fun day in your 928 with a bunch of other 928'ers for less than this. One day trip for most of you in the Carolinas and GA. Less than a 2 hour drive from ATL, Charlotte, or Columbia areas. Perfect central location. FREE food/beverages, FREE cruise-in/car show, and ONLY $30.00 to dyno your car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mark it on your calendar, cancel whatever other plans you have, and make the drive to Greer, S.C.!!!!!!!!! E-mail me at: Biguns928gt@charter.net, or call 864-968-2668 (evenings) or 864-245-6217 (days).

Great Hammerhead. That is roughly 11 sharks signed up. A couple are still in the "maybe" status, and not all want to dyno. Some prefer to watch, which is fine too. Also, I'm hoping Ian (944Turbo) can make it. The dyno is reserved, the car show is a go, and the grill is awaiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Moving this back up again. I've seen several posts on other threads from folks in the Charlotte area. If you're in that vicinity, then you need to make the short treck down for a day of 928 fun!!!!!!!!!!!!! To recap, May 8th, Greer, S.C., dyno day, cookout and cruise-in. A nice one day event with plenty to keep you occupied with cars and people. Dyno is $30.00 per session, cookout and cruise-in are free. You can't get much cheaper than that, and the fun you'll have is priceless!!!!!! If you don't want to dyno, come anyway and watch or help strap the cars down. We can always use another hand. Is your car out of commission, well bring your other car and at least hang out with fellow 928'ers for the day. Contact info further back in the thread, or PM me.

On another note, it's good to see LOTS of threads about 928 gatherings that folks are trying to put together in the various regions. LOTS more than in years past. Keep putting them together folks. Help spread the word that the 928 is an (reasonably) affordable world class supercar that can be had for less than the price of a new KIA, and deserves a long and illustrious life due to OUR passion for the marque. Also, hope to see lots of you at SITM this year. New date should provide drier/warmer weather, and the run to Deals Gap should be an ABSOLUTE blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back again!!!!!!!!! Last night I went to the cruise-in for April at location where we are heading on our 928 Dyno Day. What a blast!!!!!!!!!!! Great cars, great people, no attitudes. I had really worked hard to display my GT properly this year, and spent 2 days getting it ready. It was well worth it. Just about everyone in the place checked it out at length, asking lots of questions, paying wonderful compliments, and generally making my head swell. It was bar none THE best audience reaction it has ever gotten. Really made me feel like all the hard work in prepping it was worth it.

Now that being said, it sure would be nice to have some more folks sign up for May 8th. I know from a lot of your sig lines that there are PLENTY of 928's within "short" driving distance of Greer, S.C. There is hardly any worthwhile excuse to not show up to at least watch the dyno action, eat some free food, chat wiht other 928'ers, and hang out at a great cruise-in. Come on folks, don't think about it, just do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's bump this back to the top, especially since it's getting closer.

Chris,

I think I'll try to come up for this event, no need to dyno though as I've done exactly zip to the shark since last time I dyno'd it.

I'm thinking it's about 3+ hours from Charleston, and I'll be travelling with a 5yr old; is there anything local that her and I can do on Sun. and make a weekend of it? I assume lodging is plentiful in the area with all those interstates crossing though the area.

Chris,

I may have to back out. I just got a new job in New Bern and I still need to sort out some problems before I'll be able to make it. It'll be a last minute decision. I'll keep you updated.

No problem John, just drop me a line or give me a call if you can't make it.

Jim, there are plenty of hotels in the area, so an over nighter shouldn't be an issue. Dyno'ing is definitely not required, so come on up!!!! As far as things to do on Sunday, I'm sure I've got enough yard work and/or party clean-up to keep you busy. LOL. Seriously though, it just depends on what you're into. Lots of scenic roads that can be driven through the mountains, like the Blue Ridge Parkway. You could visit the Biltmore House up in Asheville, N.C (it's just an hour up the road), and it's VERY pretty this time of year. There is a large Factory outlet mall about half hour north in Gaffney. You might try the Greenville Tourism website (not sure of the url) to see if there are any other special events happening that weekend. HTH,
