The local windscreen installers recommended below,
  • Forms a durable, waterproof seal
  • UV and weather resistant
  • Excellent adhesion to glass
Selleys Glass Silicone is an acetic, acid-curing 100% silicone, which has excellent adhesion to glass and has been especially formulated for glazing and aquarium construction.

This aquarium safe formula locks out water and forms a durable seal that does not shrink when drying.

Challenge with silicone-based sealants is that you'll damage things if you ever need to get the lens off in the future. The vinyl stuff is better. Use the Right Stuff.

You can find really good 3M adhesives at a marine store that are the correct color. I lost a lens a few months back, which tells me that they do get brittle. Also I agree with Rob about using a 3M laminate to go over the lamp. I have a 20 year old Jetta with plastic head lamps. They had yellowed so I used Nuevite aluminum polish to bring them back. I'm sure others will work and then put the 3M laminate over each and they have not faded at all.
