Digital clock in my 1989 goes blank when I turn on the parking lights or headlights. Had it out when the console was out and converted it over to the 12 hour mode. Keeps time when headlights are off but goes back to zero hours when lights are off. Am I missing something or did I screw up something?

Maybe wires mixed up? Illumination level is high until you turn the headlights on, so it can be that the power and lighting conections are swapped.

That's it. Even though I marked the back of the clock with the colors, I still put them on wrong
