Default Aftermarket Glass Sunroof?

Curious if any aftermarket companies ever offered a glass roof for the 928?

I converted my 944 Turbo to a glass roof and it really transformed the interior.

I don't think so.

The big cross bar would be an issue.
The size would too.

The lift-out roof on the 944 is huge.
I've seen a few of those glass panels come up.
I'd get one, but I can't justify the cost. They aren't cheap.

I have put the largest sunroof of Webasto on my 928, because PO had already put An aftermarket sunroof of low quality
The sunroof can be tilted As well be slided backward over the roof.

I would love a Saratoga sunroof for 928s. Maybe Jerry Feather could make one in his big vacuum former using plexi.

Aren't they 'moon roofs' when they're glass?

Saratoga sunroof.
That's the name. I couldn't think of it when I wrote the post.

Again, the size of the standard sunroof in the 928 would make it 'less than ideal', although I'm sure there are some that would go for it.
The fact that the sunroof drops and retracts into the roof structure of the 928 dictates it's size, or lack thereof (Captain Obvious, at your service).

If I was willing to butcher the roof of mine, I might go for something like GerritD has. That looks a lot like a 944 Saratoga roof.
The simplicity and size of the 944 roof is pretty cool. It can 'pop up', using the rear latches as props. Or it can be completely removed. As 'open' as a Targa or T-tops, or at least pretty close.

I have no clue what the precise definition of 'moon roof' is.
Some say it's when the roof piece is glass.
Others say it's when the roof piece retracts into the roof structure (drops down & slides back).
Others say it's when the roof piece is powered (either drops or raises).
And of course, others say it's a variety of combinations of the above.

Mostly what it seems to be is that 'moon roof' is a marketing term.
It sounds 'fancier' than 'sun roof.'

Disregard. What I was going to say was off topic.

Interesting.

Actually, the exact opposite of what is being discussed. But still interesting.

I had a chance to spend a week driving a 944S2. The sunroof was such a delight, and miles better than my 928's. I doubt one could refit a 944 sunroof into a 928, but it does show how right Porsche got it on the 944 as compared...

This looks really nice, it would be interesting to see more details such as open and closer up.
