Default Needed: cargo carpet

My 86 cargo carpet ( black ) is stained, bleached etc. and in need of replacement.

928 Inter does not carry this item, does anyone know who does?

I would like new carpet if possible to match my new front carpets that Im getting ( carpet is in mail ) from carpet world.

Carpet World does not have or make cargo carpet!

Anyone have an idea?

Thanks dan z

I checked with a couple places & can't find just the rear.
Get a couple extra yards from Carpet World and take it along with the old one to an auto interior shop, they can make it up for you.

I have a very nice aftermarket rear mat in black with red letters, which does not conform to the factory carpet but really looks good. I do not know what brand ... Lloyds? See if you can find the mats, I don't think you need the factory carpet underneath and it has a nice rubbery backing. FWIW the '85 with 81k miles I recvently bought, has the entire carpet set in burgundy as if it had just come from the factory ... pretty darned amazing :-) I don't think anyone has ever lifted them since they are all still tucked under the edges of things.

If 928 Intl. doesn't have it, I know 928 Specialists carries carpet sets and I'm positive they can get just the rear cargo carpet in Silverknit per the original specs.

I got a new complete carpet set from Original Equipment Interiors (or somesuch). They were late in getting it done and then I sent the rear mat back because it didn't fit. Got it back, still bad. Had it trimmed locally. Now it's too precious to use!

So... I went to Kmart and bought a 3x5 area rug. Matches the camel carpet really well. I cut it to shape and tossed it in. Like $10. I'll bet black is easier to match.

Not many "local" 928 Gurus in Sprice Pine and I don't think I could afford any of the guys here on the forum, much less make it worth their time to relocate.

BUT, if I am wrong contact me because I would be very interested !

928 Junkie

Will work for parts.

Seriously, I did this when I used to race mountain bikes. In addition to my full time job, I pulled a full Saturday to pay off stuff. I don't think I ever took home a pay check. 928 prices, that would be a full time job!

He he he he. I guess you've never been to Spruce Pine, NC. Beautufull countryside. I could't think of many places nicer to live, but I imagine the closest 928 Guru outside of Spruce Pine would be close to Atlanta, GA. Once you actually hit Atlanta, 928 Specialists already hired him. You know him as Wally. But I don't think Wally is able to answer the phones that far away.

They may not be able to get to the phone right away some times, but Service is not a problem with 928 Specialists.

Most times Jeannie answers the phone right away but you may have to hold on a minute or two since we all have to flirt with her before ordering.

NOW I know why she is always on the phone so long.. I have been fussing at her for years for being a "chatty Kathy", now I find out it is ALL your fault :-)
