Learned about a new option today called "Cherished Salvage". I added it to my 1990 which is undergoing an engine rebuild for an $88 increase in my annual premium. If the car is totaled and I'm paid out the declared value, I also am entitled to keep the totaled vehicle with salvage rights for NO ADDITIONAL funds.

No more trying to negotiate a buy back, etc...

I have (well will have) 4 with them and this is GREAT to know. I'm not so worried about me totalling mine,,, but OTHERS on the road that could all to easily put a real BENDER in my works and efforts.

Just added to my policy, agent said I was the third one today to do so and wondered why we were all adding it today. You should get a finder's fee!

 

I’m still trying to decide. It’s an extra $61/yr for my 78. Not much money in the grand scheme, but year over year over year it will add up. If I wreck it, I’ll let you all know and anyone who wants the parts can go get them.

 

Can you select which car you want this feature applied to? I just started a policy with them yesterday for 4 cars. The Voodoo engine and TR3160 gearbox in my GT350 is worth a lot, would be worth it for that car. I'll have to check it out.
