Default another wiring question...

On my 1982 US car.....I have pretty much figured out and repaired all my wiring and lighting issues with the car other than the backup lights.Looking at the WSM schematics and what I actually have back at my 4 prong plug ,nothing really matches as the PO has been in here also! At Connector T4a in the spare tire compartment I have this....... at position 2 I have 2 brown wires on 1 side....1 comes out to a weird connector ( PO installed?) ,then loops back around and is tied into 2 gray/brown wires...1 leading back to the wiring loom and 1 leading back to position 3 on the same terminal ( T4a position 3) . Can anyone make out why that is run like that and how it should be? I,m not seeing any unused or unconnected wires back there and everything works except back-up lights and any indicators on the dash and my shift light. Its an automatic car. I feel something has been F...ed up back there, just not sure why and how to fix it. Thanks ahead ! Chuck

ps...also, the 6 pin terminal next to it ( T6c ) at position 3 has a black/blue wire coming in one side and nothing come off the other side?! . what the....?

Do the backup lights and dash gear indicator work when the lights are on?

Gaz, they dont. I was suspecting the switch on the tranny but when I took a look at the terminals in the back ,things looked a little wonky. I repaired one of the wires to get my brake lites up and running but it looks like the PO put that connector in there for who know why.
