Default question for the electrical gurus..

On my 1982 US..... I recently cleaned and updated the CE panel and found a melted wire which led to the ashtray light from the plug into the CE panel. I traced the wire and replaced it.The ashtray light works now ,but my dash lights are not working. Looking at the schematic I,m not seeing where it Ts off to the dash or where I may have missed that connection. Before popping the console and unwrapping all these looms, can anyone see on the schematic where and if those lights are connected together? I do have a previous thread on here regarding pulling the CE panel and that wire if that helps. Thanks again!

Dash lights go through the dimmer under the Pod.

That's the first place I'd check.

Is there power going to it?
Does the power go through it?

This may or may not have anything to do with the ashtray light.

Joe, everything was working when I pulled the CE panel. The wire I found burnt was coming off fuse # 4. The connected wire that came out of J8 and into the wiring loom was also toasted. I had written down in my notes that fuse 4 powered the dash lights and the ashtray light, but not sure where I was seeing that. The Blue/yellow wire running to my ashtray light was toasted also, so I ended up temporarily bypassing that burnt wire with a new wire between J8 and the ashtray light. The light now works, but now my dash lights arent working or are my switch lights. It may be a coincidence or there is a terminal inside the main loom that I missed that spits off and goes to the dimmer potentiometer ? All my fuses are good.
