1986 Porsche 928 - Strange Issue with Light Systems
Wondering if this has happened to anyone here. I'm turrible with electrical gremlins...
Basically, if I turn off the car with a blinker on, chime will ring warning of lights being on. I'll get out and look to find one rear running light on, or today, one front running light (one of the white lenses) and the LH marker lights. Strange. I'll get back in and turn the **** from of to on, no change. Place the key, turn to the on position, not running, and back off. If the blinker stalk is in the off/middle position, chime/warning will go off and things go back to normal. If the blinker is in the on position, sometimes it will go back to normal, sometimes the errant lights will go out, sometimes not - until I fully start the car.
Any ideas? It's an interesting thing, it is.

If you park most European cars with the turn signal lever in anything but the off position the lights (turn and side marker lights) will stay on, on the side you have the turn signal lever. That's because many roads in Europe are very narrow and poorly lit so this allows the owner to alert any traffic passing that the car is parked there. It should work that way all the time. If it doesn't than you have another problem.
