FYI - Both are adjacent from each other and they are both secured with allen head bolts.

to see them you must remove the air cleaner lower housing BUT before you start digging be SURE the relays are all working ....... 4 out of 5 times when a 928 has left me "stranded" it has been a bad relay which turns off the engine . There are three relays which can stop your 1985 ..ignition brain, fuel pump , L H brain . If you look at the relay fuse board under the passengers wooden floor board , if number 1 is top left counting to the right count ( all spaces ) numbers 8 , 10, 12 need to be checked . The horn relay position number 6 is the SAME relay and can be used to replace the others as a test .

Follow Jim's advice, look for simple reasons first. My car has on various occaisions died due to three things, LH ECU brain (rather than relay), out of fuel (not the fuel pump as I thought), cam belt failure (oh dear).
