crumbling connectors

Default crumbling connectors

Hello all

i am a newbie to the 928 world but have restored a 356 and a 911. i am currently in the midst of an intake refresh following then EXCELLENT post by dwyane (thanks dwyane) a couple of my under hood connectors have disintegrated inot chunks. are there an sources for replacement short of a new harness?

Roger @ 928sRus has all the connectors in stock.

Yes, Roger sells the plugs. Eagle is the brand, I think. Call Roger at 928-r-Us.

what parts are you looking to save by adding new connectors?
This might not be a good idea
EG fixing a knock or crank position sensor

You could replace the connectors on a fuel injection harness, I would however advise you to replace the main Front of Engine (FOE) harness if it is original.

They are known for causing issues and are all pretty much a safety hazard at this point.

Telling us more about your car like the year and if it is a North American market car or an ROW model would really help us advise the best course of action outside of referring you to Roger for the parts

Life is too short to fix knock sensor connectors, if the connector is toast the sensor is toast. Buy new ones from a reputable vendor, there are ChiCom knockoffs in fake Bosch boxes out there. Beware.

yes this is not a good idea ,
aside from adding a new connector to the temp 2 or fuel injector,
dont bother replacing any other connectors just buy new parts that are made by Bosch. unless you want to do the job twice

not sure i understand mr merlin
the connector on the harness side is gone not on the sensor side
sp far rest of connectors look ok
