Could be worse, it could be GTS with elusive 12 way sport seats and memory for both driver and passenger.

I just remembered another Tom Selleck / 928 connection. Supposedly Porsche badly wanted Magnum to drive a 928, but the producers went with a Ferrari instead. But Selleck loved the 928 so much that he bought one for himself.

I've found some info here that supports that here:

The way I read it somewhere was that they really wanted to use the 928 for the show. Aerial shots from a helicopter were a big part of the show and how they wanted it presented though. With the small sunroof in the 928, this wasn't going to work. There was no convertible 928 produced, and they wanted to go with a factory stock type vehicle for the show, so they went with the Ferrari instead.

Didn't it also have something to do w/ the fact that Ferrari ponied up a car and Porsche wouldn't play?
