Ian did you remove your tires 1st before paint work? If removed then i guess they must be rebalanced and those ugly weights put on, any way to
balance wheels with out visible weights?
Thanks

I have done it with removing the tires, and with out, and have gotten better results with out removing them.....
You can put the wheel weights on the back of the wheel so they are not visable, most good shops will do it this way if you ask.....

Well if you don't do a good job with painting them they will get torn up when mounting tires, but if you take your time and prep the wheels, and then paint them with care they should be fine. Now don't just take the wheels to a cheap tire shop and expect them to do a good job, there are good tire mounting systems and bad ones.....

Thanks for the come back ian. my wheels look awful, painting them seams like the way to go. 1st I'll have the weights moved to the inside.
I'll try to take before and after shots
Thanks

Good luck dan,
Its one of those things that is worth the shot, 15 dollars worth of supplies and an afternoon is a lot cheaper than the 100 to 150 a wheel I often see quoted for repair / refinsihing..

What do you guys think would be a good color of wheel that would go with my car. Should I paint them silver or graphite? My car has the flat dish wheels which are currently black, and the car itself is gold in color. I have another post with a picture of my car. I will try to get a link of it to take you to it.

I can't actually find a way to post the link to the pic of my car but if you do a search by my name and look for my post called rim pics, that is where the pic will be. Thanks

I would say that silver would look better, I like anthricite rims on many different colored cars, but on yours I would just stick with the silver, or this might be a bit too out there for you, but color matching the wheels to the car would be an interesting option.....
good luck...

Centercaps look better when they match the wheels IMHO, the lugs, well I have never really thought about that, I like them black because they don't stand out, I would guess graphite would produce the same results...
