Default replacing B2 cover 0-ring on A28/16

chasing a leaking transmission on 89 Auto-A28/16

can the o-ring on the B2 cover be changed without removing the passenger rear exhaust?
Is the clip holding the cover re-usable?
Are these the correct part numbers?
CLIP 126-994-01-35
O-RING 005-997-70-48
Can the cap be depressed without a tool?
Is this possible without disturbing the B2 piston?

Any info on this procedure appreciated!

It is probably possible, but would be immeasureably more difficult

Sorry part numbers are not available to me. Call Roger and he will send you the correct part.
Can the cap be depressed without a tool? Yes
Is this possible without disturbing the B2 piston? The piston can stay in place
You will want to drain the transmission to replace that O ring otherwise you will have ATF all over you and your garage. I tried to partially drain the transmission and every bit that I did not drain ended up on me.
