Having replaced the odo gear and re-installed the pod, I have found that the main beam indicator no longer works

Applying 12v to the top and bottom rails of the connector, which are the tracks that connect to the main beam indicator, confirms that there is no problem with the pod itself

Somehow there is no signal getting to the plug that connects to the board, what could cause this?

Where should I look now?

I should mention that main beam itself does work, and all other dash lights seem to work correctly, car is an 87 S4
