Default Did I buy someone’s track project?

Can understand all the weathered door cards, headliner, and damaged plastics removed from an enthusiast, but why would there be a push-to-start button on the lower dash. I have all the pieces. The key switch works fine but I can also turn the key to run and press the push-to-start and it starts right up?

Both front seats are fine but also find it peculiar that the passenger’s seat belt has been removed.

Why would one be installed unless it was for perhaps a future track car?

My 80 has a push to start, ignition switch won’t turn past run to start, so I assume that’s why the PO did it.
He wasn’t mechanic, so I would think he paid more in labor than just getting a new switch.
If these cars could talk......
