Default Alternator harness clamp location?

Found a clamp that is part of the alternator wiring harness, was not attached and can't figure out where it might go?
it is fairly high up above the alternator and parallel and forward of the oil filter

these cars have been around for a long time. Multiple timing belt and water pump jobs and who knows what else. Oh the stories they could tell if only they could talk!
