Default Remove carpets

I have a 88’ S4 parts car which I want to remove the carpets from. What is the best practice for removing the carpets without damaging them. I want to re-use the carpets in another car.

I replaced the carpets in my '87 last year - the original carpet came out easily. Any glue that was used gave up long ago on mine.

Ok, cool.

And to refit in the other car? Spray contact glue?

I used brush on contact cement from a can on most pieces, used the spray-on type on some of the floor pieces, and used a combination of both types on the main floor carpet, where I used the can type to attach this carpet to the sills. Basically, I used the can type everywhere you want the carpet to really hold. I found it sticks the best and it's easier to control the application (with the brush).

any carpet that you would like to reglue after a few heat cycles use the spray on glue
I only use the Weldwood brush on glue,
once its on,
the pieces dont come loose unless i pull them apart

I just did this for the first time, and the brush on Weldwood glue was perfect. It worked well, I didn't get any on the carpet surface, and it holds well. I'm very pleased for a first time project.
