Passenger wheel well connector was badly damaged and previous owner hacked together a mess of wires, electrical tape, and silicone goop. I dremeled back the chunked out plastic from the PO job until I could get a good look at the wiring and then added adhesive shrink wrap to the leads. Here are some pics of a quick reconstruction of the barrel I did with epoxy.
I wrapped the remaining barrel with blue painter's tape to make a cylindrical form and then poured in epoxy. It built back up nicely and secures the leads. Not pretty at all, just wanted to try something before buying used harness leftovers online. Porsche 928 ABS barrel connector reconstructed with epoxy. They become so brittle. Not just the white plug bit but also the loom.
I decided to move away from the original on my 'rebuild' and changed them all to Deutsche plugs. It gave me a lot more room, especially in the spare tyre well.

Do you hapoen to know the pinouts? My 86 has black loom wires marked with 1, 2 ,3, 4, 5 and although I continuity checked them relative to another connector, I'd love some independent confirmation. I'm certain "3" is a ground.

While I applaud the ingenuity in making a new barrel, you can still buy the harness which runs from the engine bay to the wheel hub new. If the car's harness side is still ok, I'd buy a new harness and replace it to get 2 new barrels (unless you're fighting a lot of electrical damage from PO's and funds have to be managed).
In my case, the ABS connector on the car side was broken as well as the barrel, so I ended up using a Deutsch connector to replace the vehicle end of the connections too.
