Default repairing sleeve on e brake cable

My e brake cable appears to be in great shape, with exception of about 8 inches of the rubber sleeve that houses the cable. I think that I could probably use plastic water line or something like that to replace the bad section. But I'm guessing that someone here has a better idea???

Hey Sean,
I'll post a pic tomorrow. It's the sheath/housing/tube or whatever you call it that covers the wire cable, between where it plugs into the cabin and the bracket by the transmission...

My ebrake has never worked, and I did torque tube and torque converter bearings a few days ago and when I pulled the cable loose I saw that the outside was "crumpled up" and the cable was bare..... I assumed the problem was in the brake, until I saw that.
