Default NO SPARK

i've replaced the engine bay wiring in my 1982 928, and now when i go to start the engine there is no spark. there are 12 volts to the positive side of the coil. when i turn the key to start, the engine turns over and the negative side of the coil pulsates as if it is being triggered. a half second later the coil loses spark. i've switched coils and the exact same thing happens. any ideas or advice would be appreciated.

did you re-wire the ignition box connection ? there is a "weak" signal for the tach and a "strong" one for the coil ….???? or kept the oem wiring / connection ?

i'll double check the connections. the oem wiring harness was so deteriorated that i couldn't tell one wire from another and where they ended!
