Thank you for the input. Bill, I have a ton of shop info on the 928 but I dont think I have this basic diagram which is a good resource! I did find a fault which had to be my bad. I was poking around in the engine compartment yesterday and discovered that approx 4 of the spark plug wires were not setting firmly on the distributor cap. I had pulled them over the winter to check them and reinstalled them when they checked ok. My bad for not "clicking" them all the way on. It still has a cold start issue but when running throttle response is back to where it was before. One thing that is just driving me nuts is the starting issue. Its had the cold start issue ever since I got it back in running order. When cool out, it starts hard. Over 60 out and it will start fairly easy, but can be finicky to say the least! The car was cover up for the winter and not even looked at for approx 2 months. We had a few days in January where the temps reached the low 40s and I was bored so I went out, hooked up the battery and damn....it started just about as soon as I touched the key! Its never started that easy! and never when that cold. It totally surprised me! I shut it off, disconnected the battery and covered it back up. A month or so later, the same thing....connect battery, a day in the 40s and I barely touched the key and it fired right up! Now, its in the 60s and sunny here the past few days , uncovered and it just doesnt want to fire..... needs a good shot of ether to kick and takes a bout 5 minutes to finally settle and idle.... its just got me pulling out my hair.. lol! The only thing I havent pulled and checked is the Aux air pump and associated wiring, and As Bill stated, the ECU and related connectors and pins. These look like the next step for sure. I,m using the 928 to learn as I go,but this 928 is definitely a hard teacher.

Default last straw! The SOB locked me out!

So, after reading through the other posts I,ve had on this 928, I decided its time to consider pulling the CE panel. I pulled all the relays and cleaned all the contacts and fuse connections as I could without removing anything. I removed the lower panel and found numerous wires either frayed, worn through or almost totally worn through. There was also 1 plastic in line fuse connector completely broken in half with the fuse missing. Looks like a rebuild! I decided to separate the wires as best I could just so none were touching as it would be a week or so before I could pull it. I decided to try and start the car with no luck. Then I stuck a section of hose down the AFM to hold the barn door open and the car fired right up. I jumped out to pull the hose out and as I did,the door closed and I heard the power locks kick in! Damn....now its idling like a champ and it just locked me out! Luckily I hadnt completely closed the rear hatch and was able to crawl in from the back to open the door and shut the car off. Soooo, looks like whatever I moved around in the CE panel connections either activated the security system or something. The locks have never worked so I,m thinking this is why! So, I,ll be pulling the CE panel to do a thorough cleaning and to repair the wiring and connectors ( also the 14 pin connector). Maybe, just maybe this is where all my erratic starting issues are all coming from. Does anyone have a listing of what each connector goes to on the panel? I have the WSM showing relays and fuses but not the connectors. Or am I relying on the schematics to chase down the wire destinations? Thanks ahead of time!
