Default Airbox question

Hi All, I recently purchased an 83 US model which among other things is missing the black plastic airbox. After doing some searching it seems that earlier models, 78-79, have a different airbox than the 80-84 models for some reason. I found a good deal on a complete 79 box but don't want to buy it if it does not fit. Does anyone know for sure if they are actually interchangeable or not or what the difference is? They look pretty much the same from the top, so it's hard to see a real difference. Thanks in advance.

They are not interchangeable. Bookmark www.928international.com and get all your used parts there. It will be the right stuff the first time. http://shop.928intl.com/

The tops are but the bottoms are not. Follow what is posted above. You will need the complete airbox from a 1980-1984 US 928.

Ok, thanks for the quick reply. Too bad as this was a nice box with straps but a 79....

Look at the parts listings here on Rennlist. I just sold a set a few days ago that has been shown for a couple of months now. Part of a complete car I'm parting.
