Anyone know where besides under the rear carpet I could find my car's color code? I have what I believe is silver metalic and the paint code according to the WSM's should be 980 but I don't see this designation here.
Sorry my computer is wacky but the label reads: 699 9 3 Felsengruen metallic F 3. I looked in the WSM's and it listed the color as 980. What would be the color I give to someone to match the paint of the car and what color is this?
Thanks. Is it just me or does this color Felsengrun appear to be silver in color? I have always assumed my car was silver metalic and now I find out it's GREEN !!!! LOL. Anyone else with this color please confirm with me that the color appears silver (I see no hint of green) the original stickers are in place and the car does not appear to ever have been repainted.
I always mistaken it for the Metal Gray 928's. This guy across the street had a Metal Gray and I swore it was my color until I pulled along side of him. Very tricky to tell in the sunlight.
Felsengruen in German means "Cliff Green" and it seems is commonly called Granite Green. I love the color, IMO it looks dark grey. I believe that it is a fairly uncommon color. Joel
I just received a color sample chart for use by Porsche dealers for the model year 1987. The color Felsengruen Metallic is listed in English as Granite Green-Metallic, just as Guards Red is listed in German as Indishrot. Needless to say Indish in German does not mean Guards but that is a whole other story for another time. So the words Felsengruen in German do mean Cliff Green but in America it appears that this color was called Granite Green. I hope this helps. Thanks, Joel
