Porsche New Parts Not Yellow Zing Coated? (Corrected from Nickel)
Hey guys,
I have gotten some new components for my car like new bolts, washers and the door handle (inner part) and all the new parts are coming either in silver (bolts, clips, door handle) or black (washers) on the correct part numbers directly from Porsche. All those parts are new manufacture (2018 and 2019).
Did Porsche stop Nickel coating the new parts?

Nickle is what's on them now, you mean Cadmium or Yellow zinc right? And you are correct, most of them are not coming new from Porsche that way as none of their new line up has it. I had to source elsewhere to get the look I wanted.

Yes Sean, that's what I meant... all the new pieces are not coming in yellow zinc, which is the color of all the original parts... This kind of sucks as it will have a mismatch in the look (and originality of the parts)...

I've had good luck dipping some new parts in a yellow chromate solution for about 10 seconds. But I'm guessing you might have trouble sourcing some of the ingredients in KSA. The ingredients can be found here under "Materials required for the Yellow Zinc Chromate conversion"

To clarify, you don't have to zinc the parts. Right out of the bag, wrap a wire around the nuts/bolts/whatever and dip them in the solution.

Thanks for the input. Best thing for now is to limp the car on what “maintenance” can be done until I ship it back to the US next year I hope. It’s much easier to get both the service and parts back home...
