Have noticed that my cooling fans only seem to operated at full speed, 88 s4 auto. Cooling system just had full renewal: new rad, pump stat hoses, so did not notice as car keeps just under 1/2 on the temp gauge when moving, but if parked for a while both fans kick in full on from zero, every time. I assume is full on as the draw actual causes engine to hesitate as they kick on from zero and they are quite loud. they cycle off after 30 seconds or so.

My understanding is they should be running a low speed before going to full. Cooling flaps are working as they should.

have the workshop guide so will work though just looking for short cuts

Ya, test the fan control module, seems like its not right. Good catch on the fan opening points woking well.
