To me , my car looks like it is gray. That is even what is listed on the title. According to the color code on the door though, the car is 708-mettalic black.
I have looked everywhere and under everything....I can not see where this car has been repainted. battery compartment, under hood, under everything looks the same.
So it is either;
a really good repaint where they actually stripped everything off of the car and painted the entire shell
or
my eyes deceive me and metallic black actually looks gray.
any ideas ?

Hello Don,

I checked the 928 Australia web site to see if they had a pic of your 708, but it seems they are looking for a picture as well. If you are able to confirm your color (sorry I am of no help here), you should send them a picture of your car so that others may find an answer.

I'm sure someone here can be of assistance.

I am using a sony camcorder so pics are not great....
not sure if u can really tell color that great

I sent 2 pics to the site. Sure looked gray to me tho.
Even on door it has the original paint stickers and it says 708 schwarz black. so unless they removed the stickers and painted under them, I guess it is black.

I recall seeing a metallic black 928 this past summer here in Michigan. I don't recall who's it was, but it looked very similar to yours. Not quite a black color - more like a dark grey. You only noticed the metalic when you were a few feet away. Interesting color.

You are correct. Satin black metallic is a very dark grey. Look at my avitar to the left. That is my 93 GTS which is the same color. In the shadows it is black. In daylight it is grey. My 79 Cab is the same color (scharwz=black).
I also had an 80 that was also the same color.

We have a Marble Grey down here in Oz, and I find it very attractive - at first you cant decide if its off white, or the light is playing tricks....its really a very subtle colour, very nice.
