CIS doesnt have a 'damper' AFAIK - there is an accumulator to hold pressure at shut down, to prevent vapour locks, but this is usually in the right rear wheel well. See if you can get a pic of the damper up. Check the part no of the rubber seal if unsure, I also wasnt sure about the bit on the end. I would check with Roger - they dont look like 928-110-398-00 as in https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...e/92811039800/

Where was this damper? with a nipple that looks like it takes a vacuum connection it looks like a pressure regulator used on the later systems. pretty sure
i dont have one of these. check with roger. cis injectors need ~55psi to open, and if this unit regulates pressure to less than this value, it might explain your problems.

My mistake, PET shows a damper - 928-110-231-02 which looks like yours - $$$. Also PET shows different rubber sleeves for engines M28/01-10 from M28/11-12 (mine) . Early ones are 928-110-158-01, later are 928-110-241-00. If you have one out, see which it looks like.

It was located on the passenger side behind the intake tubes just in front of the fuel distributor. It's wierd, the car ran fine for years with no vaccum hose connected to this unit. I've had the car for about 10yrs. My issues are recent, within that last year.

Yes, thats where PET shows it. If the straight bit in the end is solid, it doesnt take vacuum. If its got a thread maybe its an adjustment? If you havent played with anything in the area, something has changed. This is where you need to test the delivery volume (low because of a clogged filter?), and pressures - pump failing, clogged filter, clogged WUR, a hose failing internally, etc. If you can PM me an email address I can send you a pdf (68Mb) of the CIS section of the Ben Watson book, which is now hard to find and expensive.
