Reasonable asking price, another view
The subject of a reasonable price for an '87 S4 prompted me to post this ad I saw in the Omaha paper.
"'87 PORSCHE 928S4
Luxury, Performance, Looks!
All original. Mint! 57K mi,
Very Rare! New- $85K, book
Value- $40K, Sale- $30,000."
What book is he using? Sorry, but NADA is only $11525, and I know Kelly isn't that generous.
I'm not about to call him on that, but if somebody else wants to here's the
link.
[edit] Uh, I guess the link doesn't work. Try searching for "porsche" for the week.

Flint,
Didn't ya see that this was the very limited production 1987 928s4 Weissach "Gold" Edition?
Between the gold fixtures and hood and steering wheel badges, it will easily account for the difference between the NADA valuation of $11525 and the $30k asking price. Car is probably for sale by the original owner...depreciation is a biotch, eh?
