Tail light reflectors refreshed
Sharing a satisfying and simple task completed recently:
1. Removed lenses
2. Cleaned filthy reflectors and dried them
3. Used compressed air to blast failed paint free
4. Cleaned electrical connectors
5. Taped off connector holes and surrounding body
6. Sprayed Rustoleum chrome metallic paint
7. Let dry for 24 hours
MAJOR increase in light intensity.
Passenger side 928S tail light masked and sprayed.
Close up of chrome metallic sprayed 928S tail light.
928S tail light freshened with metallic paint and ready for bulbs.
I didn't take 'before' pics but I estimate 10% of the surfaces were bare black plastic and another 20% had no shine whatsoever.
Also, was VERY tempted to try glow-in-the-dark paint...

looks good brother before you put the lenses on apply a coat of wax to the paint this will make it harder for the water and dirt to damage your new finish

Great job. I actually came across your YT video on this the other night. I need to do this as well.
You should reach out to Roger at 928sRus about replacing the broken lens cover. Your repair should hold up structurally but may let moisture in over time.
