Since we last spoke, I changed the CPS but she still wouldn't start. Sent the LH to Louie and when I got it back, she started! Had to chase a few fuel leaks - 1 injector and check valve in the fuel pump, but now dry and running.
The thrust bearing was fine, but it was an effort to get the exhaust pipes down to get to the back two bolts on the plate.

Since then I've done:
brake fluid flush
brake pad replacement
plug wires
trans flush
oil change
replaced the last fuel line that goes from the hard fuel line to the regulator

Currently working on the sunroof. I have it out. The motor and trans are fine. The passenger cable was missing its pin, so a used one is arriving on Tue. Have everything cleaned but need to grease it up. Any suggestions on what to use?

Got a leather replacement for the steering wheel. Surprisingly all the upholsterers in town didn't want to sew it up. Dropped it off with a guy in Lincoln who is working on it. The leather is a perfect match, which wasn't easy since I have a Felsengrun colored int. I got it from custom-steering-wheels.com in FL. The Lincoln guy thought it would take him 2 wks to complete.

Shooting craps on finding a windshield. I've found plenty, but no one wants to ship. I've considered renting a vehicle and driving to one of the salvage yards that has one, but the closest one is 800 mi away. When doing a Wheeler Dealer trip, I est it costs me $225 / day traveling (hotel, food, gas), so 800 mi out and back is going to be 4 days traveling - that's $900. Throw in the cost of the rental and the windshield, and it's pretty close to the $1300 Porsche of Omaha wants for a new one.

The only key I have is a stubby key. I looked at replacing the entire key / lock set with some from Kevin in ATL, but decided not to go that route in case the next owner wanted to add a key via VIN. So I'm waiting for my title to arrive any day now and will pursue getting a key made via the VIN. You have to supply ownership documentation, hence the wait for the title. In Neb, when you buy a car from out of state you have to have it "inspected", which is basically to see if it's stolen. Since it took so long to get my shark running, I haven't been able to take it to the inspection site until recently. And now that we're immersed in COVID, the DMV isn't open to the public. You have to drop your old title, bill of sale, and inspection sheet into an envelope and into a drop box for them to process. Then they mail you the new title. What could go wrong?

I have the high pressure power steering hose left to do. Was all fired up to change it until I found out you need to remove the alternator, which requires the fan shroud to be unbolted and moved up - all to get to the front bolt of the ps hose. And you have to remove the sway bar brackets to get to the rear bolt. Not looking fwd to all that adventure, so I've been procrastinating.

The power windows aren't working. The fuses are good. Been debating whether to just buy the switches or do more investigating first. Chances are it's the switches.

That's pretty much where I'm at currently. I've glossed over all the blood, sweat, and tears. If you want all the dirty details, I've been documenting the build over on the Boxster forum.
