Sort of, it's actually called a "dial-in" and represents what he expects the car to run on that given day at that given track.
In bracket racing you are actually trying to run as close to this number without going under (breaking out) as consistently as possible, this allows cars of different speeds to run against each other. You are actually racing your ability against the other guy's.

That may be Danny and his car, but if it is then it was in it's early stages of development. He now has * I believe* a 577 CID mill with a 14-71blower and nitrous. It sticks WAYYYYYYY outa the hood, and runs 9's in the 1/4. All of this IS from memeory mind you, so some of the numbers may not be totally accurate.

That is not not the same car as Dan Humphy's. Just called my brother in Houston and he saw this 928 at the track last weekend and it is a small block chev with a 4 barrel carb amd a 9 inch ford rear end and runs in the ten's. Pretty close to the blown big block 928!

So you are saying this is not the real 928 "Drag Queen"?

Well, if you look closely, this one does not have the Jacquemond front like the one on the T-Shirt. How can I tell? The Jacquemond front bumper wraps around to the front wheels, wile the car pictured has sheet metal between the front wheels and the bumper cover.

Oh, and the car on the picture has no engine sticking out of the hood.

Chris,

I really hope your memory is off - all that motor and (looks like anyway)money and it runs in the 9's?

He could get beat by any number of force-inducted Saturns in the 1/4... (they currently run in the 8's and there's some in the 7's IIRC.)

Heck, they just got an all-motor Honda into the 9's...

BTW- Did anybody else go to PRI in December and see the MB - SL drag car? There was a drag car that almost looked good. You want a German drag car? I gotcher German drag car...

Now I look closer, that probably is not Dan's car. I think Dan's car runs 7's in the 1/4, however he races it in the 1/8th mile class.

Is that the fastest or the quickest? I would not want to be in that car at anything over 100.
