Congrats on the car and the 5,9 motor. Greg does amazing work. My GTS appreciates the care from him. Need to get it back to him for the break in service as well, as the new motor only has 1,000 miles on it.
Wow..amazing and stunning car with an impressive build sheet and fastidious previous care and ownership. It looks like it was maintained and modified with an open check book, I cannot imagine how expensive a 5.9L engine might be to build.
Based on your signature you own some incredible Porsches! Congrats! We both received our driver's license in the same year.
Ok, I'm suffering from the same thing. A previous owner painted the CS wheels on my 89' GT. Looking to have mine refurbished to original spec, or buy another set.

Time....... gotta make some in 2020
Looking at your location, you’ll have to roll down the coast to get it back too him, tough drive! 😉

Yep, the anodized wheels you typically see always look damaged from chemicals, I’m guessing that happened here. Could re-anodize or even just have them polished as that would be a period look, but likely harder to maintain. I’m just going to leave mine for now and drive it.

Yes. Must be anodized. But I suppose with your car, which is modded, it's not that important.
Polished looks crap. None of these wheels were polished. (That is only a US modification.)

Thanks, indeed I’m fortunate to be able to enjoy some great machines! And you are correct, this particular car has indeed had an open check book.
Got started sorting what is already a well sorted car (I know you guys with real projects are laughing at me!)
1. Fixed the rear taillamp malfunction. Passenger marker light out and like most folks have said, the interior contacts were dirty. I did pull the lamp just because and it was pretty corroded. Pretty cool how these cars have so many little things that make sense, like the rear post on the lamp is longer so you can put the bracket on, push through the panel, then turn it so you don’t have to mount it blindly.
2. Pulled the belly pans (took awhile to figure out the 2 bolts in the air vents!) which were surprising dirty considering there were no leaks, guess they solved all the leaks and just didn’t clean the pans. The plastic version is pretty torn up, adding that to my list of parts. Aluminum panel got a scrub and straightening while it was off the car. Anyone dealt with the pitting? My brillo pad did well to brighten the panel up, would take sanding or wire wheel to remove the pitting.
3. Since I had it in the air, I cleaned and waxed all the rocker panels. Like I said, don’t laugh, bottom of this car is super clean, and now the rockers are perfect.
4. Wheels are painted, need a trip to Al Reed to be properly anodized. Never had him do any porsche wheels, but have been there on a couple japanese cars for polishing. So nice to have so many resources literally in the neighborhood. Probably will put some new fresh rubber on, anybody have any stock size tires they like these days? TireRack has a nice set of Pirelli’s that look appropriate.
5. Washer bottle filler is cracked, will need a replacement.
6. Hood latch was loose, adjusted and tightened. Got some nice intake pics, its too bad modern porsche engines are hidden. Polished, clean and sorted engine bays are are thing of beauty.
7. Rear hatch release isn’t working, need a new part, the finger is broken of this one.
8. Door panel vinyl is loose at the top, will investigate the best solution. In addition, someone at some point put square speaker grills on the damaged the vinyl. Have to look hard but its there.
9. Going to replace the head unit. Paul at AK suggested this Continental not sure if its the one or not. Certainly much more reasonable $$ than the porsche classic head units. Honestly I just want to fill the hole with something that lights up the same amber and has bluetooth audio.
10. Gotta get Toby (Elite Tint) out to put some light tint on to project the interior.
Thanks to everyone here, so many threads to help with all the details!
2. 928Intl sells an aluminum version of the front belly pan, it's incrementally heavier but hugely more durable.
4. Al and Diane do great work on Clubsport wheels, best place to have them done locally.
5. The filler neck, or just the cap? Hopefully the latter, as new filler necks are NLA.
8. The door vinyl can be re-glued relatively easily, the goop of choice is Weldwood HHR Landau roof glue. GAHH sells black vinyl with the right pebble grain, if you end up needing to make new linings: https://gahh.com/materials/seat-upho...hicle_make=244
9. There's been a lot recent enthusiasm about the new Blaupunkt Bremen SQR46 DAB, about $475 shipped from GB. Bluetooth capable and looks a lot like a Blaupunkt: [url=https://rennlist.com/forums/928-forum/1153763-modern-classic-blaupunkt-bremen-sqr-46-dab.html]https://rennlist.com/forums/928-forum/1153763-modern-classic-blaupunkt-bremen-sqr-46-dab.html
Your GT is a gorgeous car, I watched Greg do his work on it. Pleased that it's staying local!

Car drives fantastic, put about a tank of fuel through her in the last week or so, just want to get some miles and a list before heading over to 928 intl.

I saw this GT and met Msmatt at Radwood recently, neither disappoint. Congrats again, she certainly is an awesome example of (arguably ) the most desirable 928 model. Josh
