The 928 Owner's Club manages the list now. I think the links start at 928OC.org

There are security/privacy issues around sharing personal contact (address & phone number) and asset info in a public space. The deal with the original list was that it was only shared among folks willing to help others. Kinda like a club for 928 owners willing to pitch in for a fellow club member when needed.
You -could- visit 928OC.org ....

Having said that a generic road help list could and would be nice. For example those willing to assist, like myself, can, for example, simply state, "If you break down near the Seattle area PM me". Addresses and or phone numbers can be provided if need be in the PM.

True, but...Rennlist can provide the same service as the original list. I broke down in Missoula, Montana a couple years ago and put the word out here and got a ton of assistance/advice very quickly culminating with a former 928 owner driving over from Bozeman to give me a spare 928 alternator a day later. Now I also don't visit 928OC.org that much, but something tells me the most up-to-the-second "views" for 928s are on RL.

The PM route works so long as your target contacts happen to be on line at the time. I typically check e-mails once a day, for instance, so the PM notification process there wouldn't help in a timely fashion. That said, my info is on the OC road help list, available to OC members who participate. Good reason to belong to the OC, especially if you drive beyond your free-towing limits.

There's nothing that prevents anybody from posting their contact info here, in a thread dedicated to the equivalent of the OC road help list. Critical info you'll want is the same as what you'd like to receive if you found yourself stranded. Location and contact info, and the services and support you can offer.
