Default 16V ignition module and timing light

can the "high" voltage output from the ignition module kill a timing light ? I had it recently or it must have been coincidence....( light still works but no more the advance dialing on it )
Now i use the tach signal but it's not working very good…. as to weak for it ….so i'm tempted to try again the coil signal with my new timing light and see what….

Anybody who does it without problems ?
Do you also use the "9V" positive side of the coil ( assuming there is still the resistor ) or the full 12V for the timing light ?
thanks

Not really sure what your question is, but I use a digital-readout timing light, attached to 12v at the jump post, and grounded on the engine brace bolt.
Connect inductive pickup to plug wire #1. Never had an issue.

omg, my fault… i was using a rev counter connected on the coil for synchronisation carb's and connected my timing light to that connection… so i not grounded it to engine/car but to the ignition pulse form the module... even wondering why it didn't work "good" , i didn't realize my connections were wrong.... stupid ….

Meanwhile i installed a "jump" post as i didn't had that anymore… so i can connect to 12V .

Thanks Jason89S4 !
