The remote hatch release is part of the lower receiver and you would also need a motor , relay , and fuse plus the switch . Not very difficult .

You would have thought with all of the engineering that went into this car, a rear hatch release would have been included. Tho I guess creature comforts like that were not what the engineers had in mind.

I have just procured all the parts to install the remote hatch release on my 79. Seems that alll you have do do is drill a couple of mounting holes for the actuator, swap out the receiver, run some wire, connect to two power sources (actuator & switch) and install the switch.
I believe the relay is built into the actuator unit as there is a fused power wire and 12V switch wire.
